Baby Bomber Hat

The original inspiration for this hat came from the site Delia Creates: http://deliacreates.blogspot.com/2010/10/lumber-jack-hat.html

I changed a few measurements and changed a few of the sewing instructions to give it a more polished look at the end.

This hat fits approximately 12 -18/24 months.

The measurements:

You are sewing an inner liner and an outer hat with two straps. If you want contrasting material on the liner, cut one set out of different material.

Follow the sewing instructions at: http://deliacreates.blogspot.com/2010/10/lumber-jack-hat.html until the end when you are attaching the inner liner to the outer shell.

At this point, turn the outer liner inside out and set the inner liner (wrong side facing out) on top of it. Pin and sew around the edge, leaving approximately a 3" open area to turn the hat inside out.

Once the outer shell and inner lining are facing the proper directions, hand stitch the 3" opening closed and sew two buttons to hold up the bill.

This hat was made out of one kind of fleece material for the outer shell and inner lining with sherpa material for the inner bill and ear flap area (had much more give than hat #2):

On this hat I used wool for the outer shell (not as much give as fleece), fleece for the inner shell, and sherpa material for the inner bill and ear flap section:
